Temple Schultz brings her real estate clients a vast understanding of Chicago's different neighborhoods, developed through her education in urban planning and years of experience working within the city's schools and park district. Her career has taken her to every part of the city, and she's proud to have worked closely with communities throughout both the north and south sides of Chicago.
Prior to her real estate career, Temple worked as a teaching artist for Ravinia, developing arts curriculum for some of Chicago's most underserved schools. She taught music at the Old Town School of Folk Music for over 10 years. After getting her Masters in Urban planning, Temple managed the arts programming for the Chicago Park District's Cultural Centers. She also has a particular expertise in the city's rich cultural offerings, having worked on the City of Chicago 2012 Cultural Plan by devising maps of cultural entities for aldermen in all 50 Chicago wards. This community driven work has given Temple the ability to focus and recall the assets and challenges that characterize each unique neighborhood and a special insight and ability to match clients with not only the property they're looking for, but also the best community for their needs. "I like to open my clients' eyes to options they might not have considered," she says. "I don't just think about how a home looks today and how it stands as a structure - I think about the surrounding community's history and future."
In addition to real estate, Temple is a property manager. She owns two investment properties in addition to her home. She loves to work with clients that are purchasing or selling investment properties and has spent hours on Excel calculating the right formulas to make sure her clients receive a desirable return on their investment. She has a wealth of knowledge in rental property management and landlord responsibilities in the state of Illinois.
Temple lives with her family in a historic bungalow within the West Ridge area of Rogers Park, where she is fond of the ethnic diversity and various parks. She enjoys gardening, working out, volunteering at her children's school, and teaching private lessons in piano, voice and guitar from her home.
Temple made us feel as she really cared that we found the apartment we wanted. We learned about her and her family as she did about ours. Sort of like looking for a house with a neighbor--a very good experience with that personal approach. We had a limited amount of time to search and she helped out by pacing her time according to our needs.
My family recently relocated to IL and Temple came highly recommended. We are so glad we had the opportunity to work with Temple. It was clear from the first interactions via phone and email that Temple was very engaged and serious about helping us find the perfect place. Each home she presented included detailed facts about the location, schools, access to public transit and other family specific needs in addition to the generic search results like bedrooms, baths and square footage. During our site visits, Temple took time to point out grocery stores, restaurants and local points of interests giving our family a real sense of what our new life would be like day-to-day. A great experience!
I'm really glad we hired you and that we got it listed around the right price - especially with the competition in the neighborhood that has come on line in the past two months. I'm so glad we got closed relatively quickly. Thanks again for your help.
