Maria Fernandez brings energy, empathy, and a few decades of real-world experience to every real estate transaction. Born in Cuba and a proud Chicagoan for more than 50 years, She loves the unique character of Chicago’s 78 neighborhoods—each with its own culture and flavor,—and takes pride in helping clients discover the one that feels like home.
Before becoming a broker, Maria spent three decades on the trading floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, thriving in an environment that demanded precision, adaptability, and quick thinking. Those years honed her ability to stay calm under pressure, analyze data, and pivot seamlessly when challenges arise—skills that now give her clients a distinct advantage in Chicago’s fast-paced real estate market.
Since earning her broker’s license in 2014, Maria has built her business on trust, responsiveness, and genuine care. As both a Real Estate Negotiation Expert (RENE) and an Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR). Passionate about guiding first-time buyers through the process, negotiating complex deals, and finding creative solutions when others might give up. She describes her approach with sellers as a “project manager with heart,” ensuring every detail is handled and every client feels fully supported.
Fluent in Spanish and deeply connected to her community, Maria believes real estate is about far more than property—it’s about people, relationships, and shared success and joy. Maria is an active member of the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance and lives by the values instilled by her parents: kindness, integrity, and courage. Guided by her favorite Maya Angelou quote that “people will never forget how you made them feel”—she strives to make every client feel informed, confident, and cared for from the first meeting to the closing table turning clients into lifelong friends.
