Summer is here with plenty of opportunities to explore different communities, enjoy music and food at festivals, and discover new cultural opportunities. Here’s a round-up of five activities that we found most interesting for you this week!

Don’t Just Shop, Be a Part of the Art

The 98-year-old North Shore Art League presents Art in the Village this weekend at Hubbard Wood Park in Winnetka. Spend an afternoon talking to artists and purchasing everything from oil paintings to mixed media to photography and more. Plus, on Sunday, NSAL faculty member Lisa DePinto will be onsite to paint oil portraits of you and your family.

Run on an Actual Runway

Rock N Run the Runway offers you the chance to run a 5K or walk 1 mile on the runway of the Chicago Executive Airport. This unique experience is followed later in the day by a festival at the airport featuring food trucks, balloon artists, face painting, live music, and fireworks!

The 32nd annual Evanston Garden Walk is this Sunday, featuring some of the most creative, beautiful, and personal gardens Evanston has to offer. The Garden Walk happens rain or shine. Get ready to fall in love with gardening all over again!
