Beginning in the 1960s, several luxury subdivisions were built. In the years that followed, many nationally prominent corporations, such as Armour & Company, Eastman Kodak, and McDonald's, opened offices in OakBrook. Development continued in the 1990s, including a major expansion of the shopping center. Oak Brook real estate ranges from smaller single-family homes to million-dollar estates. Condominiums can also be found in the community. Residents enjoy various recreational opportunities thanks to the Oak Brook Park District, which offers a tennis center, bike bath, disc golf course, fitness center, the Dean Nature Sanctuary, and 150 acres of park.
