Being a first time homebuyer, I was overwhelmed by the prospect of jumping into the real estate market. Stephanie was not only incredibly easy to talk to; she's trustworthy, honest and has a wealth of experience and knowledge. When we found the perfect home, we were afraid that it would be beyond our means. Stephanie came up with creative solutions to stay within our budget and she never let us give up even after our first offer was rejected - she continually came up with solutions as to how we could make things work. We not only ended up with the house of our dreams, but we stayed well within our financial means. She continually went the extra mile for us, helping to sublet our apartment so that we could move into our new house without any loose ends. There are so many people involved in the home buying process and we had some suggestions from friends for inspectors and lawyers, but ultimately went with Stephanie's referrals and couldn't have been happier. All throughout the process, you have consistently been very nice, very responsive, highly efficient, and very knowledgeable. We especially appreciate the fact that you communicated with us very effectively by email or by phone. You responded to our issues and queries in a timely fashion. Even though it was not necessarily your job, you helped explain many of the complexities of the process that we had difficulty understanding the explanations of the banker or the attorney. You also very effectively and professionally acted as liaison between us and the other parties involved (lender, attorney, and seller). We felt that you were our adviser and ally all throughout this complex process. Most importantly, you played a crucial role in helping us finally close on the unit. If it were not for your diligent research and quick thinking, we would not have found our alternate lender in a timely fashion that led to completion of the purchase. We were very impressed by the amount of time you dedicated to our case and your diligence in finding answers and solutions to the challenges that were presented to us through this process. You made us feel like we were the only ones you were working for, although obviously you have more clients than just us. This is very important and reassuring for investors like us who live out of state. I recently purchased a condo with the help of Dream Town Realtor, Stephanie Sullivan. She did an amazing job of guiding me along through this long process. She was extremely organized when identifying potential properties and was available at all times with answers to my questions. She displayed excellent knowledge of the market and was able to efficiently identify the properties that fit my interest. She made wonderful referrals for home inspection, attorney, and lender that allowed the whole process to be successful. When I ran into trouble with my original lender, she personally helped me find another lender who could cater to my unique financial situation. She was very honest and thorough in helping me negotiate with the sellers highlighting all the pertinent issues. Coming from out of state, I was impressed with how often she went out of her way to help whenever she could, no matter how big or how small the issue was. Stephanie Sullivan came as a recommendation from a friend, and I can't imagine going through the process of purchasing a condo without her help. She made the entire process as painless as possible and went above and beyond in order to make me feel comfortable. She was extremely responsive to any questions I had (sometimes responding to email or calls within the hour), was very informative, and helped guide me through a difficult loan and closing process. I purchased my first home this past November, and I couldn't have found a better realtor- Steph Sullivan. She is absolutely amazing. Overall, she is a very trustworthy, thorough, knowledgable, kind realtor- and also a great negotiator! I would really recommend her to any homebuyer, as she will really put in the time with you and help you find the perfect home. Not only that, she'll continue to help you along even after you've closed!
Here's a little summary about my experience:
I began my home search over a year ago, and she answered every little question I had. When I decided I was finally serious about buying a home, Steph sat me down and walked me through every step of the way. She explained the process of homebuying and helped me set my expectations. Then the search began. She sorted through all the listings based on my criteria. I also did the same, and we would sit down and talk about each listing that either of us thought would be a good fit. We saw about 10 places on our first outing. She helped point out the positives/negatives about each place right after we left so it would be fresh in our minds. Afterwards, I narrowed it down to three places. Then the real analysis came. She sent me comparables, market research, and answered every question I got. I had a lot of questions... let's just say she was patient with me! She made sure the other agents were prompt at getting answers to me. Then came my first disappointment- I was in the negotiating process with a seller. It turns out the seller was really irrational and I decided to walk away. You would think Steph would be really frustrated with me, but she wasn't. She understood. We started from scratch again. We went out and saw another 8-10 properties. She was on vacation for a few days when I wanted to look at these properties. I told her I could just wait. But she insisted that I shouldn't and had her trustworthy co-worker go with me. She really is persistent! And I'm glad she was because I really fell in love with the condo I saw. We began negotiating and things went along smoothly. She got me a really great deal on the purchase, and made sure I got the best deal possible. She really wouldn't settle for less! She recommended a great lawyer (Dana Siragusa). And after 2 or 3 delays due to lender issues, I finally closed on my first home. Even after, she checked in with me every few days to make sure everything was going alright. She even sent me how-to videos when I didn't know how to work the water heater! I closed 4 months ago, and she still checks in every once in a while to see how everything is. She truly is a wonderful realtor, and someone I now consider as a friend. It's great to not only have an amazing realtor, but someone you can get along with- because you will spend A LOT of time with your realtor! Steph will go the extra mile for you, and that's really what you need in your home buying experience!

Our home buying adventures with Stephanie started almost 2 years ago.
In the fall of 2009, John found out he could transfer with his current employer from St. Louis to Chicago. Stephanie was working with a different real estate company at the time, but still had the professionalism, resources, and knowledge we were looking for. Instead of just showing us one apartment, she set us up with the MLS listing database and sent over potential properties that met our criteria (area, number of bedrooms, price, etc) Since we were new to the city of Chicago, the options were overwhelming. Stephanie helped to focus our search. We were going to be in Chicago for a weekend and decided to make a day of looking at apartments. The morning was spent looking on our own and the afternoon was spent looking at about 8 different places with Stephanie. At the end of the day, we found our apartment! It had everything we were looking for, but was priced a little high. Thankfully, Stephanie has excellent negotiation skills! She was able to negotiate rent down by $200 per month!
All of these items made Stephanie the first (and only) person that came to
mind when we were ready to start looking at houses. During the 1.5 years of
living in our apartment, Stephanie started working with Dream Town and kept in
contact with us.
By the end of 2010, we had started to do our homework and knew we were ready
to start taking the search a little more seriously. We met with Stephanie at
the Dream Town office in Lincoln Square in January 2011. Even before our meeting,
she had us back on the MLS listings and sent over properties based on our skeletal requirements. At the office, Stephanie explained the whole home search and buying process. We also discussed our search criteria in more detail over in-house brewed espresso.
It's crazy to think that we we started the search in January, made one offer in
March, closed in April, and moved in May! Though it's not that crazy considering we had an expert on our team. Stephanie got to know us, our wants, and our needs. She was also able to interpret our reactions to some of the less than desirable properties we saw. Stephanie was available to walk us through the complex process of making an offer, negotiating inspection points, and hammering out the final closing documents. She skillfully answered every single question or knew who to ask. It also helped that Stephanie has her own team of experts (lender, real estate lawyer, and inspector).
John and I can't thank Stephanie enough for her help in making our dream a reality.
Real estate is more than just her job, it's her passion. On the day of our closing,
Stephanie gave us a gift. The personal touch made all the difference.

We initially were quite overwhelmed with the concept of purchasing a home
but once we met with Stephanie Sullivan, we knew we were in the right hands.
Stephanie very calmly and patiently explained the whole process and later we
looked at several condos of varying sizes, styles, and locations. Though we
never imagined we could afford a house in our budget, Stephanie managed to find
and help us buy the one of our dreams and without going over budget. She was very
