Nykea has been a proud Chicagoan her entire life, and has lived or worked in the Gold Coast, Logan Square, Hyde Park, the Loop and Evanston. She is an expert in Chicago geography, neighborhoods and amenities. Prior to beginning her real estate career, she spent 7 years as sales manager with a telecommunications company. Nykea is adept at achieving her clients’ real estate goals due to her extensive training in consultative and problem solving techniques. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Southern Illinois University, and is a licensed Illinois real estate broker. Nykea is also a self-described “football fanatic”.

    Buying a home is a humbling and a very personal experience. This significant acquisition was an aspiration that my husband and I dreamed about from the moment we decided that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. Owning our first home was not just a financial investment, for us, it was an inauguration into the elite club of maturity and it would a legacy that we would leave behind for our children. Because of the significance of this decision, my husband and I felt that it required a realtor who was very professional, sensitive to our specific wants and needs and someone who we could entrust with our infinite dreams. Nykea was the personification of these characteristics and was a welcomed anomaly. Unlike the realtors that we initiated before, Nykea was always on time, worked day and night for us and realized the importance of finding "the right home". I remember when we met Nykea for the first time at a local Starbucks. She struck me as a very confident and professional person who was very cultured in the real estate industry. She immediately explicated the details of the sequence of home ownership and concluded the brief, but informative, tutorial by arrogantly proclaiming, "I will find you a home in 30 days". I remember looking at my husband with a cynical smirk and thinking to myself that she would be added to the list of superfluous realtors that preceded her. To my surprise, Nykea not only found our dream home in less than 30 days, she managed to find everything we dreamed of inside the walls of our new residence during a terrible housing market. She worked assiduously on our behalf and smoothly navigated us through a process that many deemed problematical, stressful and exasperating.     Earlier this year my husband and I decided to purchase a bigger home for our family. We started researching properties online and selected a hand full of properties we thought would be perfect for our family. After communicating with a lot of online real estate agents we came across Nykea's bio and read all the testimonies from previous satisfied clients and we knew that we wanted her to represent us. We immediately contacted Nykea and informed her of what we needed and wanted in a new home. Initially, we presented to Nykea our hand picked list of homes. Nykea scheduled all the home viewings and accompanied us. Boy, I'll tell you we were glad to have a true professional on our side that had our best interest at hand. She was able to point out issues with the homes that would be a homeowner's nightmare. Because the homes we selected were not what we expected we were becoming a bit discouraged. We gave up searching for our perfect home ourselves and allowed Nykea to take complete control of our home search. After viewing several homes with Nykea she realized that not only were we looking for a home that would accommodate our family - we were looking for something unique, something different. Nykea put on her shades and said 'follow me'. We didn't know where we were going and finally we ended up in front of a home with a 'for sale' sign. Pessimistically we followed her inside the home. To our surprise, we were standing in the home of our dreams. Although the home was sold, Nykea was able to utilize her resources to find us a home that incorporated all the likings of this home and some. Although we moved into our new home 3 months ago, Nykea still calls us to make sure we are still completely satisfied with our new home. Thanks to Nykea, our family could not be anymore satisfied than what we are now. Nykea has made our dream of owning a perfect home come true.

    I am a manager in a customer driven field, banking. In my field I often encounter customers who have been disregarded, overlooked and under-serviced by employees. My recent experience with realtor Nykea Pippion-McGriff was just the opposite. At the end of January I contacted Nykea to advise her that I was looking to buy my first condo. I had spoken with Nykea last year and she was very nice and even took me to a few showings but due to a financial hardship, I was unable to close. I never forgot Nykea's kindness when I was going through my rough period. Because of that kindness, Nykea was the first person I called when I decided the time was right to try again. Nykea once again was patient. She gave me all the information that I needed to be able to make a knowledgeable decision. She walked me through the entire process. I felt guilty a few times for calling her so much but she never hesitated to answer all my questions albeit redundant most times. On issues that I didn't have a clue, Nykea made suggestions and she also suggested people to assist me. She always gave me at least three names and numbers so once again I could make an informed decision. My deal wasn't easy. I had three different close dates because the bank couldn't get it together and the seller had a few issues as well. Nevertheless, Nykea advised me to be patient and she promised me that the deal would go through. I valued her opinion and often consulted her before I made final decisions on things. Nykea was always professional. Needless to say I am now a condo owner! Thanks to Nykea I got EVERYTHING on my wish list. Not only have I recommended her to all my family and friends, but I also wanted to take the time out and let her employer know what an asset you have in her. I really appreciate the hard work and many hours of time that Nykea put in to make my condo buying experience easy.

    After the deal to sell our condo fell through we were in a bad situation. We had a purchase contract on a home and a significant sum of money tied up and absolutely no prospective buyers for our unit.   It was at this point when we called Nykea.   She explained her services, gave us a list of task to complete and asked us to call her if we decided to use her.   Needless to say, our decision to utilize her services and expertise was made before she left our home.   After only two showings we received two contracts and the one we ultimately accepted was more than 97% of our asking price.   Our deal closed on both properties the week of April 14, 2006.   We are still moved and stand in awe of Nykea's level professionalism and dedication to selling our home; she was always available and willing to assist us.   As the airport manager of the world's busiest airport I could use 400 people like Nykea.

    When I started house hunting I had no idea what I was getting into or who to trust with this important decision. I did an internet search and happened to find your website for Dream Town. There were some properties that I was interested in and through your website was able to express my interest in a showing and was connected to Mrs. McGriff. I have been so very pleased with her services to us. She is professional, patient, and always tried to anticipate what we were looking for in a home. I appreciate the fact that she always left the decision to us. We went to see some not so nice properties and she never made it seem like it was a chore. She presented any property with a highlight of the good points and made suggestions whenever her opinion was requested. She also helped with referrals to service partners and just made this first time experience one in which we could be confident.     When my husband and I decided to buy a house, we knew exactly what we wanted-everything! A great house at a great price in a great neighborhood with great schools. I was sure we'd have to compromise, but Nykea helped us assess not only properties but entire neighborhoods to fit our needs. She never, ever judged or tried to push our decision making in one direction or another.
