A lifelong resident of the Chicagoland area, BJ got involved in real estate when he went to work for a small, family run real estate company after graduating from Illinois State University (Go Redbirds!). During his time BJ learned everything from carpentry to plumbing to negotiating and analyzing current market value in detail. He initially received his appraisal license before becoming a real estate broker. He then worked for a large bank as a staff appraiser. After appraising a thousand or so properties in 3 years, he felt he needed more personal (people-oriented!) satisfaction from his career. So, BJ studied and obtained his Real Estate Salesperson license so he could help his clients achieve their dreams. Because of BJ's background as an appraiser with remodeling skills, he knows he can separate the good deals from the not-so-good deals.

As a lifelong resident of the area, BJ is familiar with most of the Chicagoland, but feels especially comfortable on the Northside of the city and in the near North and Northwest suburbs.

BJ's other interests include being a father ("love you, Elyse!"), improvised comedy, voiceover, cooking, meeting new people and going to concerts. BJ performed with the Playground Theater's member team "Cowlick" for over 6 years. Cowlick not only performed at the Playground but also at various theaters in the city, including, Second City and IO (formerly Improv Olympic) and comedy festivals as far away as North Carolina. BJ developed and honed his listening skills while onstage. Those listening skills are what he brings to every conversation he has with every client. Ultimately his strategy as a real estate professional is simple yet effective: "Listen carefully to your clients, adopt their needs and goals as your own and develop a plan to meet those needs and goals."
