Michael Kardas provides his real estate clients with a keen ear for listening to their needs and a sharp eye to find the home of their dreams. He makes it his goal to deliver on his promises to find his clients their picture perfect home. Michael earned his reputation for integrity and client focus not only through his years of experience as a realtor but also as the owner of his own photography business, Kardas Photography—through which he has captured photos of people ranging from everyday folks including teachers, firemen, and restauranteurs to celebrities including Michael Jordan, Mike Ditka, John Cleese, etc; corporations including NBC, CBS, and the Hilton Corporation; and politicians such as Secretary of State Jesse White, Governor Quinn, and Mayor Daley, who was presented with a framed Kardas Photo when he left office. The diversity of his clients is reflective of the depth and breadth of his capabilities.
Michael's lifelong interest in photography also informed his transition into a real estate career, as he spent a significant amount of time making photos for architects, developers, and as the corporate photographer for other real estate firms. Michael also gained early immersion in the real estate industry by watching in awe and helping his 'pops,' who owned two Chicago real estate offices. In addition Michael received an AA in photography while in Madison, and went on to get a BA in graphic design with honors from Chicago State University. Michael has also taken many real estate classes helping him assess the ideal marketing options to sell and/or buy a property faster for the best offer.
Michael was raised in southern California, and joined the Air Force to serve his country after graduating from high school. Afterwards he traveled through Europe for a year and a half with his gal and his 4-legged companion Mariah. Michael loves traveling and capturing the vast landscapes and cityscapes as well as encountering new cultures and making new friends along the way. Michael moved to the 'City by the Lake' that he fell in love with over three decades ago. In addition to living and sharing his passion of photography and real estate, Michael loves the outdoors, bicycle riding, and hiking (especially when his dog takes him for long walks along the lakefront). Above all, he enjoys breathing in and feeling the special moments provided by these physical activities to achieve a spiritual centering.
Michael recently sold his own home in Logan Square and bought and co-created a new home next to the lake in East Rogers Park, which has re-ignited his passion for this amazing city. Now working out of Evanston, he brings his vast knowledge of the north side of the city and his new love of the North Shore. His enthusiasm and love for Chicago is contagious, and Michael can't wait to fill your heart with that same love of this amazing area of the world, and be your instrument in finding your new home.
