Smittytown Market

Every first Saturday, Temperance Beer’s Smittytown Market features some of your favorite local vendors showcasing their products, works and creations. Enjoy a beer as you browse, knowing that 10% of all beer sales will be donated directly to Evanston Made, a nonprofit arts organization that aims to connect Evanston artists and creatives with the world.

Sutton Lee Seymour (Get It?) 

As the drag queen diva herself says about her name, “If you don’t get the joke, get an education.” Yup, New York City’s sassy Broadway Bombshell is excited to be back home in Winnetka with her latest show. It’s a raucous R-rated evening of non-stop comedy, live vocals, fabulous choreography, and hilarious parodies of Broadway and Hollywood tunes.

Historical Museum + Police Department = TWO Open Houses 

Just one block apart on Ridge Road, the Wilmette Historical Museum and Police Department will be hosting joint open houses at their respective locations. Enjoy a noon concert with the Wilmette Community Band, get “locked up” in the Museum’s original 19th-century jail cell, tour the Police Department including lock-up and firearms range, eat a free hot dog, and more.

Opening Weekend and Cinco de Mayo 

Enjoy a weekend full of exciting activities at Brothers’ Field, starting with the opening of their legendary Tiki Bar at 5:00PM on Friday and continuing with Latin dancing on Saturday night. Sunday’s family fun day features piñatas for the kids and authentic Mexican lunchtime fare from El Zorro Taco Truck.

It’s also the perfect opportunity to check out the newest exhibits at the Grayslake Heritage Center and Museum, including “Biking Through the Years: Cycling in Grayslake.”
