Are You A Young Adult Considering A Career In Real Estate?

Our InspiRE Mentorship program was created to help young adults from underrepresented communities become licensed residential leasing agents, and experience what it’s like to have a career in real estate. Participants will take the residential leasing agent 15-hour pre-license course through the Real Estate Institute free of charge, Dream Town will pay for the residential leasing agent state licensing exam, provide training, and pair mentees with a seasoned Dream Town real estate broker for a 6-week experiential learning opportunity. After the program is completed, the participants are eligible to apply for a job at Dream Town or with any other Illinois real estate brokerage.

Program Highlights

  • Program is a 6-week commitment for 6–8 hours per week
  • Dream Town will pay for the state licensing exam fees, and the 15-hour pre-license course will be provided through the Real Estate Institute.
  • Dream Town will provide training for mentees, explaining processes and crucial administrative functions
  • Mentees will shadow their mentor across all business functions—showings, client meetings, marketing meetings, and more.
  • Mentees will gain hands-on experience with behind the scenes tasks, such as entering new listings and creating marketing collateral

Who Can Benefit From This Program?

  • Mentees must be part of the Black and Indigenous people of color (BIPOC) community
  • Mentees must currently be enrolled in or have completed minimum of associates degree
  • Mentees must be between 20-25 years old
  • Mentees must meet the Illinois Residential Leasing Agent License Requirements (details here, Sec. 5-10.).
