My wife and I have been traveling to Chicago for the past few years and have truly been taken with the City and its people. When we recently paid off our house in Texas and started thinking about buying a condo, we naturally chose Chicago as the location. We wanted to be in or near downtown since that was the area that we knew best. Except that downtown real estate is just that, downtown real estate. So we pared back our expectations and, on our own, started looking at other areas of the City.
Our internet searches kept pulling up Dream Town Realty, and the first realtor that offered assistance was Larisa Pevtsova. Her friendly, enthusiastic, and prompt response to our questions quickly convinced us to put our trust in her. That was a good decision.
Now we are not what you would call real estate savvy people, nor was our $150,000 budget in the eye popping, big fee category. You would never have known it with Larisa. From the start, she was patient with us when we didn't understand things. She always made us feel that our real estate transaction was as important to her as her larger clients. That alone meant the most to us.
In addition to her good "bedside manner", and her naturally gregarious nature, she doggedly pursued and gathered information on our behalf, asking a question in as many ways as was necessary so that she herself understood and could then properly explain it to us. She was there with us and for us every step of the way.
By the way, we ended up buying a condo near downtown after all, and treated Larisa to a steak dinner the night after we closed. That she will be our agent again is a forgone conclusion.
We would recommend Larisa to anyone wanting the finest professional guidance.

I met my Dreamtown agent, Pam, as the result of a search of property listings on the internet. I had been renting, but the building was sold, and all the tenants were told that they had till January 31 to move out, so I was in a bit of a hurry, not wanting to move in mid-winter. All of this prodded me to look for a condo to buy, which I had been procrastinating about for some time. I hadn't made any specific request while viewing the web listings to be contacted, but Pam got back to me the very next day offering to be of help. From then on everything moved quickly and amazingly smoothly. Within a day she had sent me a group of listings tailored to my list of requests, and I quickly found about 5 or 6 listings that sounded like they were just what I was looking for. Every listing she sent met my basic criteria, which I really appreciated. In one whirlwind evening we saw the listings I was most interested in, and I liked one of them so much that I made an offer on it, and we were on our way to the ultimate purchase of that unit. Every step of the way Pam was helpful and informative, went over every line of the offer contract with me before I signed it, and gave good advice on what to offer and where to go next in the negotiations. It must have been good advice, because her suggestions were always just what I was thinking at the time. We were very much in sync, and she was there every step of the way to closing. If the rest of the staff at Dream Town are as good as Pam, it must be the best real estate agency in the city!

I contacted Mark Miles to sell my 'first' condo and to assist me with purchasing a single family home in Lakeview. The purchase went very smoothly and I am glad I chose a Realtor to assist me in the process. Mark worked tirelessly to negotiate the best possible price that he could, and his expertise of the transaction helped us get other things included in the deal that we wouldn't have even asked for. He then was able to provide me with a list of accomplished real estate attorneys and professional home inspectors. He even provided me a list of his preferred lenders, one of which provided me a substantial savings over a family friend. He clearly was looking out for my best interests throughout the process.
The sale of my condo was a bigger challenge with the market slowing back to normal marketing times, however Mark used all of the marketing opportunities that he could to bring attention to my condo, especially the exposure on the Dream Town website. While my condo wasn't updated to today's standards, he was still able to save me the time (and most of the expense) of updating the condo. Through the use of his extensive list of vendors, I was able to find a very good granite company that gave me a great deal and I was able to pass that great deal long to the buyer of my condo. Everyone was happy! I will DEFINITELY use Mark and Dream Town again in the future and refer anyone I know buying or selling to him. Thanks Mark, your work on the buy and sell was tremendous!

I have heard so many horror stories about realtors who did not follow through, were not aggressive enough, and most importantly, were bad advisors. I could not have been more pleased with Dave Plotkin and my experience buying my first place. Whenever we would look at a unit, I would immediately start decorating in my mind, imagining what color I would paint the walls, how I would arrange the furniture, and where my art would go. Dave was always my voice of reason. He pointed out imperfections in places I would never have thought to look. Whether it was a patch in the ceiling that presumed to be a large problem in the future, beams on a porch that were unsafe, water damage on the outside of the building, or assessments that were way overpriced, I could always count on him to give me his honest opinion. Dave also has experience as a rehabber and was always able to give me a financial estimate on what it would take to make the proper changes to a place which is a field I have no experience in. I changed my criteria for what I was looking for more than once and Dave was always sending me updated properties all day long. He made this experience far more positive than I ever could have imagined and I am so grateful to have found him. Thanks Dave!

My wife and I could not have been happier working with Nancy, she was absolutely fantastic from day 1 to closing and beyond. She not only helped us identify and refine the neighborhoods and types of properties that would work best for us (and we are relocating from New York City to Chicago and so are unfamiliar with Chicago) in an efficient manner, but she was an absolute pleasure to work with- so responsive, friendly and willing to go the extra mile without our even asking. Furthermore, we purchased our apartment in advance of moving to Chicago and Nancy managed to line up renters to move into our apartment the day after we closed all the while managing the small details such as arranging for our place to be cleaned, the locks changed, etc. Usually, even in the best reviews, I would have at least 1 criticism, but we honestly had zero complaints and can't recommend Nancy enough!!

I learned of Dreamtown from a search of the internet looking for 'Chicago condos or lofts. ' I decided to email Dream Town a question regarding a condo listing that I found on their website. After submitting a request for more information, Beverly contacted me and we decided to meet arid look at some property together in Chicago.
From the start, I liked Beverly. Not only was Beverly courteous, positive, and professional, but she listened carefully to my needs and worked with me and my already busy schedule in setting up property viewings. My wife and I recently purchased a property in the Lakeview neighborhood after looking for almost two years. Yogi Yedlin was our agent during this time and we could not have been happier throughout the process with him. There are a number of reasons why we feel this way and would like to share them with you.
Both my wife and I owned condominiums in the Lakeview neighborhood and were looking to upgrade to more space since we just got married. With the advent of a lot of new websites in the real estate market the process of finding a new agent came to us this time instead of us having to look for one. Of all the websites that we looked at, DreamTown. com was one of the best out there for looking for a home in our opinion. On one particular day we had made two appointments with two different agents out of frustration. Our second appointment that day turned out much better than we anticipated. This second appointment was with Yogi.
Within the first couple minutes of talking with Yogi I knew that he was different than all the previous agents we had worked with. We truly appreciated this attention to detail as it really gave us a new perspective on how to look for a home.
Another trait of Yogi's that became evident over time was patience. We were very close to making a decision and Yogi did not pressure us, but gave us a list of things to think about that were important. At this point we told Yogi that we would get back to him in a couple months as we were putting out search on hold. A few months later we were back out searching for properties. This time we had a different set of criteria.
This is where I have no idea how Yogi kept his patience. We decided that we could move to the next property level by bringing my wife's sister and husband in the mix. On top of that, since their family is close knit, Yogi now had to deal with six people as my wife's parents were now coming along to look at properties.
After a couple months we put an offer in on a place. However, everything fell apart prior to coming to a decision about the place. We had an inspection which Yogi came to and helped us through which was great. In the end, after many negotiations and discussions this deal fell through.
We were determined to not strike out with our third attempt. This time my wife's sister was out of the picture and it was back to just the two of us and again the criteria changed. In the end, we found the place that suits us best and we could not be happier. Yogi did a great job of meeting our expectations and working with us to get the best purchase price. After having lived in our home for a few months we could not be happier. All the credit goes to Yogi for this because it was his professionalism, patience and understanding of our changing needs that made this a very pleasant experience. My wife and I kept changing the rules of the game along the way and Yogi stepped up each time with a great attitude and a willingness to work with us that I wish I could find in other professional aspects of my life. My wife and I would (and will) happily recommend Yogi in the future to anyone we know looking to buy and sell a home.

Ann did a great job helping to sell my place in the difficult 2009 market. Her first piece of good advice was that we work with a stager to make sure the place would show as well as possible. She even brought some of her own belongings to help the condo look its best. When I got an offer, she helped me figure out how to negotiate the right price. After that, she helped with everything else in the process through the closing. When the inspection report came back, she and her husband (a builder) personally helped to fix things for me. Also, I really give her credit for always maintaining a very positive relationship with the buyer and the other agent. She is not even remotely pushy or high strung like some agents can be, and this helped immensely. She let a number of people in to the condo when I was at work for all sorts of things (appraisal, repairs). During the 45 day waiting period from offer to close, I can't even count how many emails and phone calls we exchanged. There are dozens of steps of the sale process, and she always got back to me right away (sometimes within minutes) which I appreciated a lot. This was the first place I ever sold, so I didn't really have the experience to know how to deal with all the little things that come up during the process, and she was always there to help.

After renting for several years in the area, just about a year ago I felt the time was right for me to buy a condominium in Chicago's Old Town. As a first time buyer, I knew I was going to need help and Paul Hettler was with me every step of the way. He prepared me for the "payment shock" of not only paying a mortgage but also real estate taxes, monthly condo association fees and maintenance renters don't normally pay. After he showed me the tax advantage though, of owning vs. renting I saw that it was not nearly as shocking as it first appeared. My search for my new home has been a very interesting and informative experience. The actual search started off exciting and fun but after 4 months into the process I began to get frustrated and desperate not only with the search for my dream home but with my agent as well.
