At that point we began working with Dave and he was more than we could ask for. There were gimmicks or games and he analyzed each home as if it were he was making the purchase. Additionally, he was a very effective liaison between the mortgage company, lawyers and other realtor. I felt confident and at ease using Dave, and we would do it again.

When my wife and I were looking for a downtown Chicago condominium, we chose Susan because she was the most responsive from the onset. That didn't change as we evaluated different neighborhoods and options. She was always patient, not too pushy and professional. When we found the place we wanted to put an offer on, she prepared a market analysis and made recommendations for offer. Her attention to detail was flawless in addressing the many questions we had along the way, assisting in the inspection, as well as areas to address in the offer. Susan provided us with 2 or more professional mortgage lenders/brokers, competent attorneys, and let us make our decision. Bob, thank you very much for this wonderful experience! I have known Bob for several years now and had asked for his advice in regards to investment properties in the past. Bob was always available to meet and share information without putting any pressure on me "to buy". That was very valuable to me because I felt that he cared about me as a person and wanted me to make the decision when I was ready for it. This past summer I decided that I was ready and I called Bob immediately. At first I was a little nervous about how things would go because I didn't know exactly what I wanted to buy. I am very grateful to have worked with Mitch Gardberg while buying my first property. Mitch was proffesional, available, and responsive at all times. He took time to explain every last detail involved with buying a property, and made sure I was comfortable with everything. I truely believe that Mitch looked out for my interests throughout the entire process. I did not come to terms on the first place I made an offer, but was able to on the second. During both negotiations, Mitch kept encouraging me to slow down the process, not get ahead of myself, and make sure I got the best deal I possibly could. Mitch really cared more about making sure I got the best deal possible than making sure a deal closed. Mitch's advice throughout the negotations really helped me remain focused and calm, which is difficult during that stressful time. I used my brother-in-law for the home inspection, and a close family friend as my attorney. Both remarked that they've rarely seen realtors who looked after their client's interests the way Mitch did. I would highly recommend using Mitch to anyone who is looking for a realtor, and will certainly use his services again when I move.

Given the complete plethora of agents you can choose from in Chicago I ended up trusting Yelp's reviews and going with Jim, and boy was everyone else spot on with their recommendations. Jim is genuinely honest and forthcoming at all times. Better yet, he listens to what you are looking for, looks for relevant listings, and lets you make decisions for yourself. I was surprised that we walked into several units and he pointed out multiple negative things that I wasn't even thinking about. It never felt like he was trying to force anything on me while we looked at units. He was always constructive in pointing out the strengths and weaknesses of a unit and could tell that he really does care that the unit you buy will be perfect for you. I also purchased a short-sale that took several months to close on due to issues negotiating with the bank. At one point my attorney wasn't able to get a response out of the agent at the bank for several weeks and was worried the deal wouldn't happen. On Jim's own initiative, he called the bank, managed to get a hold of the agent, and conferenced my attorney in to resolve the issue at hand to keep everything moving. You really can't go wrong with Jim. If you haven't decided on a realtor yet, do yourself a favor and call him.

Oh dear. Where do I start. I didn't do any due diligence in trying to find a realtor - HIGHLY unusual for me. It was a pleasant turn of fortune that I ended up with Diana. This was a long process. We didn't go under contract until April, and didn't close until June. And over that 8-month process, Diana became my confidante, advisor, go-to expert and friend. Now, I said 8-month process. Never once did she lose her patience, even though I was always a bit indecisive and there were probably moments when she thought I was never going to pick a place. She was an incredibly helpful resource and sounding board - always answering my questions, prodding for how I was feeling and what I was looking for, but NEVER pushing me towards anything I didn't want to do. She was available at incredible hours. She probably worked longer weeks than I did - and that's saying something. And she always bent her schedule to an extent that I felt my showings, conversations, emails were always a priority. She is very very cheerful. I'm a very energetic person myself, so it was great that we bounced off each other's enthusiasm that way (we could have powered the nearest cell tower between the two of us). She genuinely loves her job, which makes her that much better at it. There were some things that I still had to handle myself - I felt more comfortable deciding on the numbers behind the offer and the negotiation myself; I picked my own broker because I did the research to find the best rate; I did a second due diligence behind the property (consider it the equivalent of a second opinion with a medical diagnosis). She made herself available throughout all this and never took it the wrong way that I chose to handle these myself. I could keep writing about this.
I could tell you that I've recommended her to two different co-workers, who have both been very happy (and for whom Diana has given me referral gifts :) - because she's just that thoughtful) I could tell you that when I had my housewarming on a night when she was busy - she made sure to come over with her husband at some point to give me a housewarming gift. I could tell her that I genuinely don't think I could have found the place where I'm very very happy without her. I could tell you that when I buy another place in the future, there's only one agent I'd consider. Or... you could just go talk to Diana and see for yourself.

It is clear that moving and finding a new place is a very stressful experience. However, working with Cally, made the whole experience fun and less nerve-wrecking than it would have been otherwise. Going out to see condos felt like an adventure, an exciting and fun one! Cally rapidly understood what was important to me. I would say she has a very keen eye to grasping the client's personality and needs. She took the time to get to know me so she could do a better job suggesting places she thought I'd like.
