This small residential haven, no more than eight blocks wide, is a patch of green in the middle of crop-laden fields and forested wildlife reserves. School's In Session

South Wilmington has one educational facility within its boundaries - the South Wilmington Grade School (375 5th Avenue, 815-237-2281). This K-8 school is located in the northwest quadrant of the village and generally enrolls a little over 80 students each year. Athletic programs are combined with that of nearby Garner Grade School to provide South Wilmington children with plenty of opportunity to play their sport of choice.
