Case-Shiller Index: Good News for Housing

The Case-Shiller real estate index has been churning out doom and gloom reports about the housing market for the past three years. That’s why the public is really perking up now that the index is saying home prices are on the way up.

For the fifth straight month, pending home sales have risen (according to the National Association of Realtors). The last time that happened was in the summer of 2003. Industry monitors, such as Case-Shiller, are putting the word out that a rebound is in the future. It may not be immediate, but all signs point toward a step in the right direction for the national housing market.

Home sales are up, home prices are up, even new construction starts are up. We’re through the low point of the cycle. Anyone waiting for the market to bottom-out before buying, your wait is over. Now’s the time to talk with an agent about your game plan. Click here to contact a Dream Town real estate consultant.
