"Premiere of Homes" Features New Homes on South Side
Spring is traditionally the hottest selling season for real estate, but with the preceding housing slump builders are not so sure a simple change in temperature will bring out the home buyers in droves this year. That’s why some Chicago developers are going the extra step to ensure house hunters know about the good deals and great values available right now.
Realtors typically hold open houses to draw attention to new listings on the market… Well, the Southside Builders Association (SBA) decided to take that idea and expand it to a weekend-long showcase of new construction homes located in a number of spots throughout Chicago’s South Side for "The Premiere of Homes." The event highlighted 18 different sites, including condos, lofts, townhouses, and detached single-family homes, with prices ranging from $159,000 to $800,000+. By offering a diverse selection of residences with varying price points, the builders’ group is able to target a broad audience and more effectively alert home seekers to the wide assortment of quality properties up for sale in multiple neighborhoods.
The Premier of Homes features locations in growing South Side communities, such as Kenwood, Oakland, Jackson Park, Woodlawn, South Shore and Bronzeville. These areas have already experienced significant development and revitalization in recent years, but the SBA wants to keep the momentum going and maintain a steady pace of new home construction in the budding region for the future.
Some stops on the tour are ready for immediate occupancy while other residences are still under construction or planned for development. In addition to creating awareness of existing home options on the South Side, the builders hope to generate interest in upcoming projects and boost appreciation of the area’s excellent homeownership opportunities. The Premiere of Homes parade was a kick-off event to inform buyers from around the city of the great residential properties in Chicago’s South Side neighborhoods. The impressive real estate prospects here are not limited to just the homes on the tour—talk to an agent to find out the scope of the housing selection and to visit some of these brand new residences yourself.
A multi-development "open house" may be a less conventional approach than buyers are used to, but it shows that the Chicago real estate industry isn’t afraid to break out of the mold and introduce new initiatives to start this spring selling season off on the right foot.
