$8K Tax Credit Can Be Used as Down Payment on FHA Loans
First-time home buyers can now use the $8,000 federal tax credit as down payment on Federal Housing Administration-insured loans. Modification to the tax credit was announced Tuesday by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and is hoped to significantly increase the number of first-time buyers entering the market in this year.

Chicago’s Green City Farmer’s Market Opens This Wednesday
The Green City Market re-opens its outdoor fruits and veggie stands this week to start up the 2009 season. Beginning Wednesday morning, local and organic farmers will sell their homegrown produce, flowers and other goods from the usual spot in the southeast corner of Lincoln Park.
